The Polo House and Bungalows
The following terms apply to all reservations at The Polo House and Bungalows. By booking a stay, you agree to the policies below. Please read them carefully.
Please review before your stay
Group room blocks, corporate retreats, on-site meetings, activities, and events are governed by distinct policies, and each may require a formally signed agreement prior to check-in. If any of these apply to your stay, please call (805) 362-0606 right away to avoid issues at check-in or during your stay.
Polo House and Bungalows cannot be held responsible for cancellations due to traffic, travel conditions, illness, acts of God, change of plans, or any other causes.
Standard check-in is 4:00 to 6:00 PM daily. The front desk is unstaffed overnight, so late arrivals after 6:00 PM require advance notice. Early check-in should be arranged by phone, subject to availability.
Standard check-out is 10:00 AM. Late check-out may be available on request, subject to availability.
Every stay includes a homemade breakfast each morning and The Polo House Aperitif each evening: local wines from nearby vineyards served alongside charcuterie boards, flatbreads, pizza, and other seasonal bites. Room service is not available. Dietary needs can be accommodated with 72 hours’ advance notice.
Outside guests may join registered guests for breakfast with 24 hours’ advance notice, at $30 per person. Non-registered guests may not stay overnight or use the rooms or accommodations.
For individual reservations, the balance is due 21 days before check-in, at which point your entire stay becomes non-refundable.
For group reservations of 4 or more rooms, the balance is due 60 days before check-in, at which point the entire group becomes non-refundable.
We understand that plans can change. If you cancel outside the non-refundable period, your payment is refunded minus credit card fees and a 10% service fee per room. Within the non-refundable period, we are unable to offer refunds or future credits, so if your plans shift, please reach out as early as possible.
Postponement of a stay is considered the same as a cancellation.
Rates are based on double occupancy. Select rooms can accommodate additional guests at $50 per night per adult and $25 per night per child (ages 2 to 11). There is no charge for children under 2.
Adults must continuously supervise minors aged 12 and under. Failure to comply may result in the party being asked to leave without refund.
Pets are permitted in Bungalows 1 to 6 only, for a fee of $75 per stay. Pets are not permitted in Bungalows 7 and 8 or in Rooms 9 to 14. Properly licensed ADA service animals are welcome throughout the property; please let us know at the time of booking if your service animal will accompany you. Service animals may not remain unattended in rooms. Comfort, companion, emotional support, and therapy animals are not formally recognized as service animals and cannot be accommodated. Polo House and Bungalows dutifully reports all incidents of service animal fraud.
The dining area, powder room, front porch, and one guest room are handicap accessible, with a private entrance, a fully accessible bathroom, and dedicated parking.
The entire property is no smoking or vaping, including the Wine Garden, balconies, porches, decks, parking areas, and especially guest rooms. Guests found to have smoked or vaped in the room will be charged a minimum of one additional night at the standard rate, plus additional fees if more time is required to fully deodorize the room.
Quiet hours are 9:00 PM to 9:00 AM. Garden quiet hours are 8:00 PM to 9:00 AM.
Kitchens are off-limits due to insurance regulations. Catered events require a separate Catering Agreement.
Guests must remove excess trash, including wine bottles and boxes. The property may charge $75 per 40-gallon trash can for excessive debris.
Damage beyond normal wear and tear will be charged to the guest’s credit card at the property’s sole discretion. Guests may not make repairs independently. Guests found to be abusing any portion of the inn will be asked to check out immediately without refund.
Guests are asked to minimize requests for excessive linens, laundry, grocery shopping, refrigerator use, batteries, or ice.
Groups of 4 or more rooms must acknowledge a separate Group Reservation Agreement. Groups, whether reserving the entire property or a portion of it, are expected to behave in a manner appropriate for the setting; under no circumstances may guests disrupt other guests or neighboring properties. No amplified music is allowed in any exterior area at any time without approval and direct supervision of inn staff. Exterior areas close at 9:00 PM, and the garden at 8:00 PM.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Code prohibits the use of candles, incense, or any other burnables at either property.
Polo House and Bungalows is not responsible for the loss of any property, money, or valuables. A safe is provided in each room, and security cameras operate in common areas.
Bicycles are not permitted indoors, in guest rooms, or on balconies and porches. Secure storage is available upon request.
Only Polo House and Bungalows branded gift certificates and gift cards are accepted.
Written quotations guarantee the stated rates until expiration but do not hold rooms. Rooms and the site are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Polo House reserves the right to cancel reservations or reject gift card redemptions by providing written notice at least ten days prior to the scheduled check-in date. Full refunds of deposits and prepaid amounts, including gift card payments, will be issued.
