Just up the road at 3720 Baseline Avenue in Santa Ynez, La Herradura Polo Club is a full-service polo club and equestrian center founded by Guillermo “Memo” Gracida and Meghan Gracida. Our hotel takes its name, its spirit, and much of its art from this game, and our partnership with the club gives every guest a direct line into the valley’s polo life.

The valley’s polo season plays its final chukkers this fall. The 8-Goal Series runs from September into October, and the season closes with finale weekend on October 10–11.
Spend the day fieldside with the club, then come home to the estate: dinner in town, a nightcap by the fire pit, and breakfast before the Sunday match.
Guillermo “Memo” Gracida holds a record 16 U.S. Open championships, held a 10-goal handicap for 21 consecutive years, and in 1997 became the first active player ever inducted into the National Polo Hall of Fame.
Meghan Gracida chairs the U.S. Polo Association’s Women’s Committee, won the first women’s 40-goal Triple Crown in Argentina in 2022, and leads the club’s weekly Ladies’ Polo League.
